We must remind you that in the event that we obtain a judgment against you, that judgment will be recorded on a List of Registered Judgments which is a public document. The list is available to anyone for inspection and referred to by credit reference agencies when assessing applications for credit. A judgment will affect your ability to gain credit. If the judgment is paid after one month, the judgment will remain on the record for a period of 6 years, albeit marked as satisfied. If unpaid the judgment will be marked as unsatisfied.
‘Between July and August 2008 a number of postings appeared in the Small Business section of our web forum at this location. These postings contained various serious allegations against Weinstein Williams Associates (a multimedia organisation based in Liverpool) including claims that it was a rogue publishing company (of the kind condemned by Trading Standards) operating a number of publishing scams, that it has a false VAT number, that it was holding itself out as a charity and was engaged in dishonest and fraudulent business activities so serious that it would not pursue claims for unpaid invoices through the courts for fear of its business practices coming under scrutiny.
We wish to stress that the views expressed in those postings were those of individual forum users, not of MoneySavingExpert.com.
Following receipt of legal complaints from Weinstein Williams regarding these threads, the MoneySavingExpert.com abuse team contacted the users involved to request evidence to substantiate their allegations.
No such evidence was provided and the threads have therefore been permanently removed from the site. We accept that the allegations might have been damaging to the reputation of Weinstein Williams Associates and express our regret if any distress or harm was suffered as a consequence.
Please do not post any further allegations of this nature about any company anywhere on the MoneySavingExpert forums, unless you are prepared and able to substantiate them. If you see a post regarding this topic please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com. This thread is closed for discussion.’
